Young people are insanely conservative nowadays. Not in the broad normative sense: gay people are accepted, xenophobia is disdained, etc. etc. Generally more equal attitude all around, but less extreme social deviancies are paradoxically treated much more severely. Online corniness is showered with such shame that one can only wonder why in the world we became this way. Millenials had it right: to be cringe is to be free. What was so wrong with that?
